Job Description:

Improving Lives Respite Services seeks full- time and part-time support workers for day shifts to provide support to individuals with autism, dual diagnosis or other developmental disabilities in our Beeton House Group Home near Bradford in South Simcoe County and about 25 minutes from Newmarket and a half hour south of Barrie.

Full time staff are offered a full benefit package, with sick pay, vacations and holiday pay. All staff are covered by liability insurance and liability insurance. Rates start between $16-19 per hour.

Shift lengths are 12 hours per day, from 8:30 to 8:30.

Qualifications:

  • Completed a diploma or degree in a related discipline (DSW or equivalent degree or diploma) from a recognized post-secondary educational institution
  • 1-2 Years progressive experience working with people with developmental disabilities (not the elderly).
  • Clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Credentials Requirement: First Aid and CPR Certificate (minimum "C" level), Medication Administration Certificate, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate.
  • Other certifications like Safe Food Handling, Health and Safety, etc. are an asset.
  • Valid Drivers License with clean abstract
  • Ability to work with a team of 4-5 other people

We request that people with PSW backgrounds and experience only in retirement or long term care facilities do not apply for this position.
