Job Description:

Are you community minded? Do you want to help guide CONTACT COMMUNITY SERVICES in its mission to support the communities of South Simcoe by providing quality services through creative, sustainable solutions to community needs?  
 
CONTACT Community Services is a registered charity that has a long-standing history of taking a proactive approach to the changing social needs in South Simcoe. Our services include free resource information, free income tax clinics for low-income individuals, senior’s workshops, housing help, and employment services. Our thrift store, The Clothes Line, offers gently recycled clothing and household goods and supports families and individuals in need. It also diverts metal, plastic and fabrics from landfill. Additionally, it offers community integration, social engagement and work experience for a wide range of residents.  
 
CONTACT is seeking a Director to join their Board of Directors. Potential directors should possess the following attributes:
 
  • Interested in the well-being of the vulnerable populations of South Simcoe Community
  • Willingness to get involved in initiatives such as strategic planning, fundraising, finance committee, new service development 
  • Provide new, insightful ideas to provide value & opportunity to our community as a whole
  • Be willing to get involved in implementing and executing those ideas
  • Living or working in South Simcoe
  • Available to regularly attend Board meetings
 
To provide a breadth of experience on the Board, any of the following skill sets would be an asset: law, fundraising and grant writing, marketing, finance, operation of a social services agency, government relations.
